The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently released a series of eight videos that encourage Latter-day Saints to listen to and love those considering suicide. This video features a man whose life changed after the suicide of his son.

For those seeking help, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached at 1-800-273-TALK. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also provides suicide prevention resources at suicide.lds.org.

  1. I am so glad the church is finally recognizing the problem. Four years ago when I lost my daughter, there was very little support from the church’s standpoint and what I did try to get started or offer was not accepted. It’s about time!

  2. Lori,

Thank you for your comment. My heart breaks at the loss of your daughter- I am so, so sorry. I completely agree that I am thrilled the Church is speaking out (and it is long overdue!!). Suicide is a tragedy that all of society should and must address.
